Need help finding and accessing health care services? We can help!
When you are new to a country, it is easy to feel lost and confused as you try to find your way through a maze of health services. Our health care system can be quite complex and difficult to navigate even for those who have been living in Canada for many years.
Our team is here to help you navigate the health care system and to provide you with knowledge, information, and tips. Our Multicultural Health Navigators will support you in your own language and offer the following:
- Home visits to meet you in the comfort of your home to discuss your health needs
- Help you apply for Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP)
- Provide information about different health services that are covered under OHIP and Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP)
- Provide information on the roles of various health care providers
- Refer and connect you to health, social and settlement services that meet your needs
- Advocate on your behalf when needed
- If necessary, accompany you during your first appointment with your primary care provider
Our Multicultural Health Navigators speak a variety of languages, including:
- Arabic
- Dari
- Farsi
- French
- Pashto
- Somali
- Swahili

At this point, we are only accepting referrals for those who speak the languages mentioned above. Please note that wait times vary depending on the navigators’ caseload.
