Interpretation services

One of the key challenges when serving newcomers is communicating with them in their own language.
Refugees, in particular, usually have a limited knowledge of English or French.

Could clients be accessing your programs and services in their language of choice?

Could you be providing interpretation for your clients AT NO COST?

Ottawa Language Access is here to support service providers who have refugees and immigrants as patients and/or clients. This program offers free language interpretation support on request. To qualify programs must be:

  • A program that currently receives funding from the Champlain LHIN.
  • A program that currently serves immigrants and refugees.
  • A program that does not currently have access to interpretation-services funding.(Note, if you receive a budget for interpretation that is insufficient to serve all the clients requiring service your program may still be eligible)
  • A program of specialized services in the priority areas of chronic-disease management, mental health and addictions and care of the elderly.
